We are proud to be FSC® certified, a globally recognised mark of responsible forestry. This certification ensures that the timber we use is sourced from forests that are managed with strict environmental, social, and economic standards in mind. It provides assurance that every link in our supply chain — from forest to finished product — upholds the principles of sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation, and respect for the rights of workers and local communities.
For us, FSC certification is more than a label — it’s a reflection of our long-term commitment to ethical production and environmental responsibility. As a design-led company working with natural materials, we believe in building products that not only last, but also contribute positively to the ecosystems and communities they touch. By choosing FSC-certified products, our customers join us in supporting forest preservation and responsible sourcing practices that help protect our planet for future generations. -
Otipoti recognises the pressing need to prioritise our planet's well-being, and we are deeply committed to minimising our environmental footprint. As part of our pledge to sustainability, we are earnestly addressing the packaging standards within the furniture industry.
Recent studies have shown that the furniture industry generates significant waste through its packaging materials. It's estimated that 30% of landfills are consumed by packaging waste, with a substantial portion stemming from the furniture sector (Source: Environmental Protection Agency). Notably, the rampant use of non-recyclable plastics and Styrofoam in furniture packaging contributes substantially to environmental degradation.
In light of these findings, Otipoti has set a vital objective: By the close of 2025, we aim to transition our entire product range to sustainable and fully recyclable packaging solutions. Our commitment does not compromise on product protection, ensuring that our customers receive their furnishings in pristine condition.
This initiative not only underscores our dedication to the environment but also represents a pivotal step towards creating a more sustainable furniture industry for future generations. -
We believe that well-designed furniture should endure—both in its physical construction and its relevance over time. Longevity is built into our design process through careful material selection, thoughtful detailing, and a focus on timeless forms. By prioritising durability and usability, we aim to reduce the need for frequent replacement and encourage more sustainable consumption habits.

We recognise that sustainability extends beyond materials and manufacturing—it includes the people, processes, and partnerships behind every product. We work with a carefully selected network of vendors who share our commitment to ethical practices, transparency, and accountability. Building long-term relationships based on mutual respect allows us to maintain visibility across our supply chain and uphold the standards we believe in. Fair treatment, safe working conditions, and environmental responsibility are non-negotiables in how we choose to work—and who we choose to work with.

Sustainability doesn’t end at the point of sale. We recognise that the environmental impact of a product extends to what happens when it’s no longer needed. While our goal is to design furniture that remains in use for many years, we also encourage responsible options for when a product reaches the end of its life.
Where possible, pieces can be repaired, repurposed, or passed on. We support donation to local charities or community reuse programmes and recommend recycling through appropriate material channels when disassembly allows. By designing with longevity and material clarity in mind, we aim to ensure our products remain useful—and thoughtful—through every stage of their lifecycle. -
The most sustainable product decisions happen long before production begins. In our studio, we use a combination of digital modelling, 3D rendering, and rapid prototyping to review, test, and refine each design before committing to physical samples. This allows us to make better decisions earlier—whether that’s adjusting a material interface, improving joinery, or resolving scale—without unnecessary material waste.
By embracing these tools, we reduce the number of prototypes required, shorten development timelines, and avoid overproducing at the early stages. It’s a more intentional process—designed to lead to better outcomes for our clients, our makers, and the environment.
